OUR COMMITMENTS

One of our key core values, is about being socially and environmentally responsible. At Tinware Direct, we are committed to ethical trading practices, ensuring we are environmentally, socially and economically responsible.

We support and run numerous initiatives to meet this value and in doing so, to reduce our impact on the planet. Here are a few of our commitments.

SME Climate HUB commitment image

Part Of The SME Climate Commitment

We are a proud member of the SME Climate Commitment. This is an internationally recognised climate commitment that is aligned with the latest climate science. The climate hub is for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) which provides information about the climate commitment and access to tools. They work with the leading partners with the goal to make the path towards a net-zero business simple and beneficial.

Our pledge is to:

  1. Halve our greenhouse gas emissions before 2030
  2. Achieve net-zero emissions before 2050
  3. Disclose our progress on a yearly basis

Planting trees to offset our carbon emissions and support reforestation
One Tree Planted

We fund reforestation around the globe through our support of the One Tree Planted charity.

The reforestation projects supported by Tinware Direct, provides jobs and food to communities, increases biodiversity, helps with climate regulation and maintains the Earth's natural water cycles.

Sedex Member logo

Tinware Direct is a member of Sedex. An organisation which helps companies manage responsible sourcing in their supply chain. Sedex supports ethical trading, ensuring labour rights, health & safety standards and the protection of the environment.

Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association

Through Tinware Direct's membership of the MPMA, we help to support the sustainability of metal products, aiming to reduce the number of products which end up in landfill. Metal Packaging has the highest recycling rate of any packaging material in Europe, with 84% recycled each year and an estimated 80% of all metal ever produced still in use today.

Removing single use plastic from our packaging

NO SINGLE USE PLASTIC IS USED IN OUR PACKAGING

We understand the impact packaging waste can have on environments. Tinware Direct does not use single use plastics in any of our packaging products

MATERIAL SOURCING

At all times we aim to reduce the environmental impact of our products, ensuring we source through recognised standards such as FSC approved, using recycled materials wherever possible and reducing unnecessary chemicals and plastics from manufacture.

SUPPLY CHAIN INITIATIVES

Through our memberships, we are supporting the development of good environmental practices in the countries we operate in. We also undertake rigorous assessments of our suppliers to ensure their standard match our own.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT

We pride ourselves on having attained ISO:9001, a certified quality management system (QMS) for organisations who want to prove their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet the needs of their customers.

OFFICE GREEN SCHEMES

We run numerous office initiatives to encourage and empower our teams to be green too. These include discouraging waste, recycling schemes, replacing power hungry equipment, installing power saving equipment, supporting remote working and encouraging the use of public transport
